100 2-wheeler cos appear in 1st Bikex India Expo

New Delhi, Jan 5: In a move that could give a fillip to the Indian two-wheeler industry, a three-day international exhibition 'International Bikex India' is being held in the capital with 100 companies, including Hero, Avon and Royal Enfield, participating in it.

The event organiser, Sunstar Expositions, aims to create a platform to put major manufactures, suppliers, traders and the potential buyers in the auto industry together and claims it to be better than the 'Auto Expo'.

''With over 25,000 footfalls witnessed during the first half of the day, I expect International Bikex India to do much better than the Auto Expo wherein the two-wheeler players are generally neglected among the bigger car makers. By the third day I am expecting over 2 lakh people to visit the show,'' Mr Anil K Baali, the main organiser, told reporters here today.

This is the first of its kind show taking place in India with the presence of international tie-ups and collaborations as every company across the globe is vying to set-up a base in India, he said.

The company will also organise an exclusive commercial car and truck expo in August and September respectively.

Companies from Germany, Taiwan, Sri Lanka and England are also participating in the event.
