Two killed, nine injured in Kashmir accidents

Srinagar, Jan 4 (UNI) Two persons were killed and nine others were injured in separate road accidents in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said today.

He said a speeding car hit two persons at Kujar late last night.

The injured were admitted to hospital where one Abdul Hamid Dar died.

A six-year old boy was hit by a vehicle at Zirhama in the frontier district of Kupwara. He was rushed to hospital where he died, the spokesman added.

In another incident, five persons were injured when two vehicles coming from opposite direction collided near Sabzimandi, Ashajipora in south Kashmir this morning. The injured were hospitalised.

Two more persons were injured in a similar accident at Palhalan, Pattan, in north Kashmir district of Baramulla today. They were hospitlaised.

The police spokesman said a gas cylinder exploded in the house of Ghulam Mohiuddin Lone at Nadihal in Bandipora late last night causing damage to the roof of the house. However, no one was injured.
