Tremors shake Meghalaya
Shillong, Jan 4 (UNI) An earthquake of light intensity today shook Meghalaya's capital Shillong today.
The tremor, measuring its magnitude 3.4 on the Richter scale, occurred at 1729 hrs (IST) with its epicentre about 30 km from Central Seismological Observatory (CSO) at Upper Shillong, CSO officials told UNI here.
They said there was no report of loss any of life and property.
This is the third earthquake in the past eight days which hit the state's capital.
The North-Eastern part of India, which falls in the highest Seismic Zone in the country, is prone to earthquakes.
