Three killed, six injured in road accident

Chittoor, Jan 4 (UNI) Three persons, including a woman were killed and six others injured, three seriously, when the tractor in which they were travelling overturned near Nayanoor village at Kuppam mandal in Chittoor district today.

Police said the accident occurred when the tractor, carrying ten people was proceeding to Kuppam from Nayanoor for loading cement bags overturned while negotiating a curve.

Two men were killed on the spot, while a woman died on the way to the hospital.

The deceased were identified as the tractor owner and driver, Kuppuswamy, hailing from Thummbari village at Vanyambadi in Tamil Nadu, Varadappa(40) from Chitoor and Govindamma(35).

The injured were admitted to a local hospital.

A case was registered and an investigation was underway, police added.
