Tamil Nadu facing imminent defeat against K'taka
Bangalore, Jan 4 (UNI) Forced to follow on, Tamil Nadu were precariously placed, losing three wickets for 130 in the second knock and still 89 runs in arrears against Karnataka at the end of the third day's play in a sixth round Elite 'A' group Ranji Trophy match here today.
At stumps, skipper Badrinath (46) and Hemang Badani (six) were at the crease, with the visitors facing certain defeat on the morrow.
Chasing a huge Karnataka first innings knock of 426, Tamil Nadu were all out for only 207, with left arm spinner Sunil Joshi (4/53) and M P Appanna (3/39) devastating the Tamil Nadu batsmen, among whom opener M Vijay stood tall making 48 runs. However, in the second knock too, the visitors failed, losing three wickets before draw of stumps. R Prasanna scored a valiant 59 before he was trapped leg before by Appanna.
