Sumul brands to rename as Amul from tomorrow

Surat, Jan 4 (UNI) Sumul Diary, the biggest milk marketing co-operative in south Gujarat owned by Surat Distric Milk Producers Union (SDMPU) has decided to change the name of its brand into Amul from tomorrow onwards, sources informed here.

Various milk producing and marketing co-operatives in Gujarat had decided some months back to change their brandname and accept the ''Amul'' brandname for the whole Gujarat.

But SDMPU did not join this league and decided to continue with its existing brand name.

However, after some recent discussions SDMPU also decided to change its brand name to Amul.

From tomarrow onwards all the milk packets from the diary will carry the brand name Amul, sources said.

The milk products of the Diary also carry the new brandname once the old stock is over, sources added.
