SEL bags five road projects in AP

Hyderabad, Jan 4 (UNI) Soma Enterprise Ltd (SEL), an infrastructure development company, has bagged five road construction projects worth over Rs 1200 crore in Andhra Pradesh.

The projects included Hyderabad-Bangalore Highway (Rs 744 crore), awarded to the joint venture of Soma Enterprise and China Gezhouba Water and Power (Group) Company Limited (CGGC) on a Cash Contract Basis and Hyderabad-Nagpur (Rs 460 crore)(AP-6) project on BOT basis awarded to the consortium of Soma Enterprise and Avinash Bhosale.

The Hyderabad-Bangalore Project involves four-lining of four stretches of nearly 170 km, which should be built in 30 months.

The Hyderabad-Nagapur Project on NH-7 involves four-lining of the 55 km stretch Maharashtra-Andhra Pradesh border road, including construction of three major bridges and nine minor bridges.

SEL Director Ankineedu Maganti said the company was now executing roads and highway projects worth over Rs 1400 crore across India and was actively looking at expanding its presence in the sector.

'With the addition of these projects, our current total project outlay was Rs 2500 crore. The company in addition to highways, will further consolidate its presence in hydro power, irrigation and water resource development projects,' he said.

'We are keen to undertake projects in power, water supply, sewage treatment and urban infrastrcture development across India.' He said the company was planning to foray into real estate through its first venture, a nine million square foot built-in complex on the Bangalore-Mysore Road for which it acquired 100 acre.

Apart from planning for another complex near Hyderabad, the company planned to bid for the proposed Railway freight corridor.
