Russian Scientist dies in road accident

Rayagada Orissa, Jan 4 (UNI) A Russian scientist working in Hindustan Aeroneutic Limited (HAL) was killed while 14 others were injured when a bus in which they were travelling overturned near Kailash Ghati, about 30 Kms from here today.

Police said Russian engineers and other staff members from HAL were returning from Puri in two buses when one of them met with the accident.

The Russian scientist identified as Karlov Victor (55) died at the spot while 14 others, 12 of them Russian working in HAL, were injured. They were immediately shifted to the HAL hospital at Sunabeda for treatment.

The body of Karlov Victor was later taken to Visakhapatanam from where it would be flown to Delhi and finally to his native place in Russia, Police said.
