Rs 254 cr corruption in Powai-Vikroli link road construction

Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party's northwest Mumbai district president Munna Tripati today said that he will sit on an ''indefinite fast'' from tomorrow, in front of MMRDA's Bandra office in protest against the corruption prevalent in the Powai-Vikroli Link road construction project, which he alleges runs to the tune of Rs 254 crore.

He claimed that he has concrete evidence of the corruption in the link road construction project and added that he has already submitted the same to Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and MMRDA's CEO Mr T Chandrashekhar, twice, in October and again in November last year, with covering letters. However, till date no action has been initiated by the Government or the MMRDA against the corrupt officials, he rued.

The NCP leader reiterated that a thorough inquiry must be conducted against these corrupt officials and the guilty punished.
