Recommandation for uniform use of Mizo language
Aizawl, Jan 4: Mizo Language Committee of Mizoram Board of Secondary Education(MBSE) has recommended uniformity in usage of Mizo language in the state from this year.
In a recent meeting of the committee with representatives from Art&Culture department, Mizo Academy of Letters, Mizoram University and churches resolved that a systematic and uniform usage of Mizo language should be done.
MBSE has entrusted the committee to review Mizo grammar and make necessary modifications, making phonetic symbols and development of the language as it has a view that the students can communicate in one language.
''The absence of common language apart from Hindi can affect education but we are fortunate that we have a common language,'' state Education Minister Dr R Lalthangliana said.
He, however, said the government has taken initiatives in promoting the national language adding that in addition to 500 Hindi teachers for primary schools, government has plans to appoint another 687 Hindi teachers.
