Pune, Mumbai Universities enter league phase in Kabaddi meet

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 4 (UNI) Last-year runner up Pune University and Mumbai University today entered the league phase of the South-West Zone Inter-University Kabaddi Women tournament here today.

Pune gave a solid display against Madras University, romping home with 54-25 points.

While Pune's Sheetal Marve stole the show, R Pushpalatha, was the lone player, who gave a semblance of respectability to the scoreline for Madras University by helping the team with 12 out of 25 points.

In the other match, Mumbai University, outplayed Kuvempu University, Shimoga by 42-19 points.

Meanwhile, Shivaji University, Kolhapur defeated Andhra University by 46-26 points, while Acharya Nagarjuna University, accounted for Mangalore University 56-19.
