Prisoner escapes from court premises

Darbhanga, Jan 04 (UNI) An undertrial prisoner today escaped from the lock-up of a local court and a policeman was suspended in this connection.

District police superintendent Ratnamani Sanjay said prisoner Chintu Singh managed to escape from the police custody when he had been escorted to produce before the court in connection with a criminal case.

''A policeman Barmeshwar Singh was suspended in this for dereliction of duty,'' he added.

Raids were on to arrest Chintu.
