NSCN-IM Chairman arrives in Nagaland
Kohima, Jan 4 (UNI) National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) Chairman Isak Chishi Swu, along with his wife was escorted under 'Z-plus' security cover by Nagaland Police, to Dimapur in Nagaland from Guwahati, last night.
Mr Swu's trip to Nagaland from Bangkok was kept under a veil of secrecy as the rival faction NSCN(K) had threatened to kill NSCN-IM General Secretary Thuingalend Muivah if he entered the state.
NSCN-IM sources said that Mr Swu came from Bangkok to Guwahati by flight, from where he was escorted to Dimapur.
He had reached Dimapur at around 2330 hours, from where Swu was taken away to an unknown destination.
Mr Muivah is presently camping in New Delhi for talks with the Union Government and likely to arrive in Nagaland by January 10.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM in a release here has extended warm welcome to its Chairman Mr Swu and glorified his ''selfless sacrificial journey'' abroad for the cause of the Nagas.
