'NRIs keen to invest in India'
Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) An Asian Indian Chamber of Commerce high-level delegation, ''India Trade Mission 2007'', from the US and led by Seema M Singh has expressed interest in investing in small business in India.
The investment could range from USD 0.5 million to USD 5 million per project with a corpus of over USD 20 million to start with, the delegation told a meeting hosted by the All India Association of Industries (AIAI) and World Trade Centre.
The Chamber is looking at the hospitality, real estate, telecom, information technology, BPO-call center, solar and nuclear energy, media entertainment, and other sectors.
The delegation opined that India is a land of opportunity and will be the next economic power and, therefore, they would not like to miss this opportunity.
The delegation said that not only Asians of Indian origin but even Indians from West Indies, Fiji, Africa, Pakistan, and Bangladesh would like to do business in India and extend support to Indians doing business in the US, according to an AIAI release here today.
The AIAI president, Mr Vijay Kalantri, said in the release that NRIs are looking forward to investing in India as the country has a good growth story and offers tremendous opportunities in all sectors.
