Nithari: Postmortem report adds fillip to 'human organ trade' theory

Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Jan 4 (UNI) A postmortem report on the Nithari village serial killings today revealed ''a pattern'' in the way the victims were 'dissected' and the missing of the ''middle part'' of all bodies that raised the possibility of a link to organ trade.

The report, virtually exposing the human organ trade theory in the killings, talked of a butcher like pattern, with a degree of precision, being followed in the killings.

Vinod Kumar, Superintendent of Civil Hospital, Noida, who led the post mortem told UNI that the middle part in all the 'bodies' was missing, except for a few stray bones.

''Of the 17 skulls recovered, eleven were of girls/women -- revealed from the hair on them -- and six boys.'' All the deaths date back from the last three years to three months ago -- a period during which nearly all the organs could be found and not get 'disintegrated' completely as has happened in this case, he said.

''The suspicion of human organ trade cannot be ruled out as the entire trunk area -- the chest and abdomen part -- except for a few bones in some cases, is missing in all the skeletal remains found, whether it was kidney, liver or intestines which was surprising.'' Though these were prima facie findings, and the final thing would come out after taking circumstantial evidence, forensic findings and DNA tests into account, yet indications, during postmortem findings, offered ample evidence to suggest the worst possible fears, he said.

''The matter needs to be explored so that it may not be repeated,'' he added.

Substantiating the 'human trade angle' another doctor, involved in the postmortem said there was ''a pattern in the slashing of the bodies'' which suggested ''some sort of expertise'' in conducting the 'dissection'.

''All the bodies had been slashed at the same point -- between two vertebrae -- and none of the bones were fractured.'' This itself spoke volumes about the incident, he added.

UNI
