New BJP team to be announced in Jan itself: Rajnath

New Delhi, Jan 4: BJP President Rajnath Singh today said he would announce his new team of office bearers in January itself.

Talking to reporters after declaring open the Central Election Management and Coordination Committee to facilitate election management for the states going to polls at the party headquarters here, Mr Singh said there was no delay in announcing the team as he had stated that he would announce his team during January-February.

''Now it is happening in January itself,'' he said.

Asked if he would pack his new team with 'working' members, Mr Singh remarked all members were working and there were no non-working people in the team.

Mr Singh who took over as party President in January 2006 has been carrying on with the team chosen by his predecessor L K Advani and Mr Singh's election as BJP President for a full term of three years was ratified at the BJP National Council at Lucknow. About the election control room, Mr singh said it would help the party to be in touch with the units in states going to polls on a regular basis maintaining a ''live connection''. They would be imparted with advice on preparing election materials, communication tools like hoardings, posters, banners and creating effective slogans. The Central party would provide strategic inputs like segment-wise data, collation, analysis and strategic planning of issues based on socio-economic and geographical conditions.

The cell will also coordinate the tours and election campaign programmes including travel and transport arrangements of senior party leaders, he added.
