NCP, Cong not in alliance in six corporations
Mumbai, Jan 4 (UNI) NCP will not have an alliance with Congress in six municipal corporation, while two days time has been given for talks in other four municipal corporations, including Mumbai, NCP spokesman Madan Baphana today said.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Baphana said ''The six municipal corporations where NCP has decided to go alone are Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Amravati, Ullhas Nagar, Solhapur and Nagpur, while the four municipal corporations for which the talks are still going on are Mumbai, Thane, Nasik and Akola.'' However, Mr Bafna said if the talks for an alliance in these four municipal corporations did not yield results, the party was prepared to go alone.
Mr Bafna also said if NCP go alone in Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation election, it would not have any understanding with the third front which comprises of various factions of RPI and Samajwadi Party.
Asked the reason for not having an alliance with Congress in six municipal corporations, the spokesman said though the NCP was ready for an alliance, there was no proper response from the Congress.
