Narayanan memorial in capital

New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) A memorial to former President K R Narayanan is coming up in the capital city.

The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, today cleared the proposal to set up the memorial at the samadhi of the late President.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi told mediapersons that the proposal was submitted by the Union Urban Development Ministry.

The samadhi of Narayanan is located in between those of former Presidents Zail Singh and Shankhar Dayal Sharma.

Narayanan was the President of India during 1997-2002 and was Vice-President during the preceding five-year.
