Murder accused UP MLC's bail plea rejected
Lucknow, Jan 4 (UNI) A local court today rejected the bail application of Uttar Pradesh Member of Legislative Council (MLC) S P Singh in the sensational C P Singh murder case here.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Bhudev Gautam rejected the MLC's bail application after hearing.
On December 28, Singh and his aide Shiv Bahadur were sent to jail for 14 days till January 10 under judicial custody in the case.
Lucknow Public School founder-manager C P Singh was shot dead in the morning of September 21, 2006. Police had recovered 10 shells of 7.65 bore from the crime spot.
S P Singh and Shiv were arrested on December 29 by Lucknow Police.
In early eighties, C P Singh and S P Singh, who were relatives and friends, had founded separate chain of schools under the name 'Lucknow Public School', which was a bone of contention between them. A case is still pending in court.
The MLC allegedly gave the contract for killing C P Singh to Shiv Bahadur, who engaged two criminals Anant Verma and Ranbeer Singh for the same. Both have already surrendered before the police.
While, the MLC claims to be innocent, Shiv Bahadur alleges S P Singh had given him Rs 10 lakh for the killing.
