Mohun Bagan team arrives in Bangalore

Bangalore, Jan 4 (UNI) Fresh from their title winning effort in the Federation Cup last week, former champions Mohun Bagan arrived in the city today to clash with HAL Sports Club in their first match on January six in their quest to regain the National Football League.

Physical trainer-turned-coach Robson Mattos De Olivera put the star-studded Mohun Bagan players through some physical exercises at the Bangalore District Football Association stadium in downtown Bangalore.

Despite four players sitting out owing to injury, three times champion Mohun Bagan looked formidable with Bhaichung Bhutia and Jose Ramirez Baretto spearheading the attack.

Team Manager Joy Kandu said Robson, coaching the team on a temporary basis, was impressive in honing the skills of the players and helping them to win the Federation Cup. ''We are looking for a new coach, but it is still some time away as we have not zeroed in on any particular name.'' UNI
