Model code: Flex hoardings of political parties to go

Patiala, Jan 4 (UNI) The Election Commission has directed all political parties in Punjab to remove flex hoardings from the public property.

All hoardings fixed on Government land must be removed with immediate effect and if any party wanted to use public place for this purpose it must be charged as per rules and the amount paid included in election expenditure of the candidate, the Commission said in a communique.

Flying squads will be made to check and enforce model code of conduct strictly irrespective any political party for the assembly polls scheduled for February 13. The officials have been warned against misuse of government vehicles during the elections.

In every office, a nodal officer will be appointed who will receive complaints regarding misuse of official machinery, the communique said.
