Mob attacks PGVCL teams in Jamnagar

Jamnagar, Jan 4 (UNI) A team of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL) was attacked today by a mob while it was on one of its circle checking drive here.

Deputy Engineer Chandrakant Khodidas Patel was one of the 30 members of the seven teams involved in the checking.

In a police complaint, Mr Patel has accused Ramji Chagganbhai Solanki of instigating a mob of 50 to attck the PGVCL team. The mob allegedly indulged in stone-throwing and damaged vehicles. A PGVCL helper, Ramesh Chanabhai, was beaten and an employee of PGVCL Anilbhai H Vyas was attacked with a knife. Anilbhai has been admitted to civil hospital here.

A case has been filed against Ramji and others under Public Property Damage Act 3 (BPA) and 135 (1) and under several sections of the IPC.
