Lawyers go on hunger strike

Kancheepuram, Jan 4 (UNI) Work in courts here was affected today as lawyers in the district held a hunger strike.

The advocates were seeking the implementation of Madras High Court judgement directing the authorities to bring Sriperumbudur and Sunkuvarchatiram areas under the jurisdiction of courts in Kancheepuram.

They also sought the transfer of cases pertaining to these areas to the courts in this district.
