Industrial workers hold demo

Puducherry, Jan 4 (UNI) The Industrial Estate Workers Union affiliated to the CITU today held a demonstration in front of the ESI Zonal Office here to press their demands.

They were demanding among other things, ESI cover for unorganised sector labourers, posting of doctors at ESI hospitals round-the-clock and timely disbursement of ESI leave benefit.

Meanwhile, people from Bussy and Keerappalayam areas today picketed a ration shop on the Nainippillai Street to protest its irregular functioning.

Police and Bussy MLA Anand pacified the agitators.
