Indepay launched for retail, payment services

Bangalore, Jan 4: Adding a new dimension to the retail boom in the country, Indepay Networks today launched Indepay, the first-of-its-kind retail distribution and payment network that promised to redefine and strengthen the retailer-consumer interface in the Indian marketplace.

Indepay was a singular solution to multiple purchases and payment requirements of the consumer. Through Indepay, buyers could now procure goods and utility services starting with mobile top up at the next door retailer. The Indepay terminal enabled customers to make both cash and cashless payments anytime to any Indepay enabled merchant instantaneously to avail a wide range of goods and services, the company said in a release here.

Indepay, through its proprietary platforms, created a network of merchants, telcos, banks and online aggregators and built an ecosystem that allowed consumers to purchase various goods and services available online at the traditional retail store.

The release said that through Indepay network, neighbourhood retailers could facilitate customers goods and services like utility bill payments, railways tickets, gifts, flowers, cashless bank transaction and lottery.

Company President and Chief Executive Officer Rajib Saha said Indepay would empower the society as a whole by giving unmatched freedom and convenience to consumers in terms of purchasing, while enabling retailers the chance to grow on the strength of new services and revenue streams. It would create an unprecedented ecosystem wherein consumers could access a full range of e-goods and services through traditional retail.

In the first phase, Indepay terminals would be deployed and activated in the top 63 towns in India with more than 500,000 population, with the objective of introducing a new service every month leading to a whole new world of ease, comfort, convenience and value for consumers, the release said.
