WB: Home security systems in, burglars out
Kolkata, Jan 4: Don't worry next time when you are out for a vacation for ten days leaving your house locked. If burglars enter your house this time, the city police will come and catch them.
Thanks to the new age technology and security systems.
With the public sector biggies like Reserve Bank of India, NTPC and Ministry Defence in their client list, Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd has entered the home segment with their surveillance products.
''If a burglar enters a house, the entire video recording of the incident will reach our monitoring centre in Mumbai. The monitoring centre will inform the local police station and the customer will be alerted. Alarms will be raised as well,'' Zicom chairman Manohar Bidaye said here today.
''We have devised similar products for small shopkeepers also.
These are low range but effective products named "Zicobusiness",'' he said.
''The home security system is a big market in India. Home solution market is a big market. The size of this market is around Rs 200 crore and growth at a rate of 50 per cent. But most of it is occupied by the unorganised sector,''Mr Bidaye said.
'"We have entered into retail market in order to tap this potential,'' he said.
The company has its own research and software development centre in Mumbai while the products are manufactured in Taiwan, China and Korea through contract manufacturers.
Apart from the home segment, the company has institutional surveillance system. Apart from various projects in RBI and other public sector companies, Zicom is also creatin security systems for Ayodhya Ramjanmabhumi site, Sidhi Vinayak temple and several other temples. The institutional segment is also growing at 30 per cent the potential market size is Rs 600 crore.
