Lucknow, Jan 4 (UNI) Even as all the major political parties in Uttar Pradesh clamour for a CBI probe in Nithari killings, state Governor T V Rajeswar has joined the chorus shooting off a letter to chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav in this regard.

Even as the UP government announced stern action against the errant police officials on charges of laxity in the matter, Mr Rajeswar has sent a letter to CM suggesting CBI probe into the incident, highly placed sources told UNI here this morning.

Sources said the governor wrote the letter following reports that the victims could have been killed for human organ trafficking.

Major political parties, including opposition BJP, BSP and Congress, have demanded a CBI probe into the barbaric incident.

The CM also said he was not averse to CBI probe into the Noida serial killings. ''We are waiting for the two-member committee report, which is in Nithari to probe the incident.'' Talking to mediapersons here yesterday, the CM said his government was not against recommending a CBI probe into the killings, but any decision would be taken after the committe's report.

''We are expecting the report of the Committee comprising home secretary Arun Sinha and ADG (law and order) A C Sharma within a day or two. The government would evaluate the situation after the report and order CBI probe if needed,'' he maintained.

Taking a stern step into the Nithari incident, the govenment had last night dismissed six policemen and suspended three others, including former SSP of Gautam Budhanagar district.

State chief secretary N C Bajpai along with principal secretary (home) S K Agarwal and DGP Bua Singh announced the decision of the state government.

Mr Bajpai said former SSP Gautam Budhanagar Piyush Mordya, presently posted as SSP Ghaziabad and former SP (City) Swamitra Yadav and Circle Officer Sevak Ram had been suspended with immediate effect.

The government also dismissed six sub-inspector rank officers Rajeev Baliyan, Kanwar Pal Singh, Vinod Pandey, Ms Simranjeet Kaur, R N Singh and Deepak Chaturvedi, who were posted at sector 20 police station.

Mr Bajpai informed more action would follow after the two-member committee submitted its report and if required, FIR would be lodged against these erring cops.
