Four HUJI militants gunned down in Udhampur

Jammu, Jan 4 (UNI) Security forces today killed four Harkat-ul-Jehad-Islami (HUJI) militants in an encounter at Gool in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of some Pakistani militants in higher reaches of Gool, troops of 58 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) conducted a search operation early today, Inspector General of Police (IGP) S P Vaid told UNI.

He said during the operation, a fierce gun-battle took place in which four militants had been killed.

The slain militants were identified as Abu Sophian, Abu Sadiq and Abu Hamja while the identity of the fouth one is yet to be ascertained.

A large number of arms and ammunition had been recovered from the slain militants, he said.
