Gateway of India molestation case: 5 detained

Mumbai, Jan 4: Police today detained five youths in connection with the molestation of a woman during New Year Eve's celebrations at the Gateway of India in south Mumbai.

The custody of the suspects hailing from Ghatkopar area has been handed over to the Colaba police for further investigations as the alleged crime had occured in their jurisdiction, police said, refusing however, to divulge their names.

''These five youths have been detained only for questioning on the basis of photographs published in certain sections of the media. They have not been formally arrested,'' they clarified.
