CPI(ML)-L to organise rally for Nandigram on Jan 9

Kolkata, Jan 4 (UNI) The CPI(ML)-Liberation would organise a rally in protest against yesterday's police atrocities on the villagers over alleged proposed land acquisition in Nandigram of East Midnapore on January 9.

''We are demanding the West Bengal government set up a judicial inquiry into the Nandigram incident and give back the forcefully acquired farmlands in Singur,'' party general secretary Kartick Pal told newspersons here.

The government does not want development of West Bengal and now CPI(M) has converted into a corporate party, he alleged.

Altogether six persons, including two policemen, were injured during a clash with villagers and police personnel for acquisition of land for the proposed industrial project of the Indonesian Salim Group.
