Central fund for Indira Awas Yojona in Bengal

Kolkata, Jan 04 (UNI) A total amount of Rs 13.9 crores was today released by the Centre for constructing houses under Indira Awas Yojona in three districts of West Bengal under a timebound programme.

Official sources here today said the amount which came as the second instalment would be utilised not only for the construction of new houses, but also for the upgradation of kucha houses to pukka ones in East Midnapore, Nadia and Coochbehar districts.

As the total expenditure of the entire project would be shared at the rate of 75 per cent and 25 per cent by the Central and the state government respectively, the contribution of the West Bengal government was likely to be released within a month, the sources added.
