Mathura, Jan 4 (UNI) Police today recovered a car allegedly used in the Meerut University ad hoc lecturer Dr Kavita Rani's murder.

The car bearing HR 37B 9983 registration number was recovered from outside the Mathura railway station.

Police said an unidentified person had parked the vehile outside the station late last night and fled.

Meerut Police claims the vehicle belongs to Ravindra Pradhan, the main accused in Kavita's murder.

Kavita Rani Chaudhury had disappeared two months ago, while working as a temporary lecturer at Chaudhury Charan Singh University in Meerut.

In letters found in her hostel room, Rani blamed one Ravindra Pradhan for her possible death. A week later, her family lodged a case on November 4.

She alleged Pradhan, known to an Uttar Pradesh Minister, forced her to go with him or her family would be killed.

On December 24, Ravindra had surrendered before a Noida based news channel. He had alleged that Kavita had intimate relations with some UP ministers, including Primary Education Minister Kiran Pal Singh and former Irrigation Minister Merazuddin.

She used to make their obscene CDs and had managed to get Rs 35 lakh from them. Ravindra had usurped Kavita's share. On having protested, she was killed.
