Bomb hoax in Karnavati Express, Surat district court

Surat, Jan 4 (UNI) Ahmedabad-Mumbai Karnavati Express was delayed and arrived two hours late at the Surat railway station following a bomb hoax.

The Railway Police sources here said the Baroda railway authorities had received a call this morning, claiming that a bomb had been planted in the Karnavati Express.

The train was halted at the Bharuch railway station and thoroughly searched. A dog squad, too, had been pressed into service. However, the call proved to be a hoax and the search did not yield any suspicious object.

The train was subjected to another check when it reached the Surat station, the railway police sources informed.

Meanwhile, a bomb hoax also caused some panic at the sessions and district court in Surat.

The Umra police here received a phone call claiming that a bomb had been planted on the court premises. Here, too, a thorough search was conducted, also utilising the services of the dog squad, but no suspicious object was found.
