Azad Sandesh Yatra underway

Jabalpur, Jan 4 (UNI) The Azad Sandesh Yatra, a ten-day journey that began from Allahabad yesterday to commemorate revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad's birth anniversary year, will reach this cantonment town tomorrow, official sources said.

After traversing about 3,000 km across more than 20 districts and 60 cities or townships, the Yatra will conclude at Jhabua district's Bhabra on January 12. Soil from the freedom-fighter's birthplace Bhabra, martyrdom site Alfred Park in Allahabad, a replica of the revolutionary's pistol and a mobile exhibition are part of the Yatra.

Youths active in the social and cultural sectors are part of the journey.

A UNI report from Indore said that a meeting conducted yesterday was informed that on January 10 the Yatra would traverse Sehore, Aashta, Sonkachh and Dewas to enter Indore district at 1500 hrs after crossing the Kshipra river. It would enter the city via Vijay Nagar after touching Dakachha and Manglia.

The journey would reach Krishnapura Chhatri via Palasia, Regal crossing and Maharani Road. A public meeting is scheduled at Krishnapura Chhatri at 1800 hrs that evening.

On January 11, the Yatra would cross Sanwer, Ujjain, Badnagar, Badnawar and Rajgarh to reach Jhabua.
