ATA threatens to start phasewise agitation from January 15
Itanagar, Jan 4 (UNI) Arunachal Teachers Association (ATA) has decided to boycott classes throughout the state from January 15 to 19 in the first phase of the agitation to protest against non-fulfillment of its various demands.
The phasewise agitation had been decided in a recent executive body meeting, threatened to boycott state board and CBSE examination duties as its second and third phase of agitation, ATA sources said here today.
ATA demanded among others, immediate halt to back-door appointments of teachers, appointments to all regular vacancies of teachers, reintroduction of NCERT book in school curriculum, non-extension of services of the teachers of various categories appointed through back-door policy, and arrest of the person who assaulted the principal of Itanagar Higher Secondary School.
Criticising the government for its unwillingness to address their problems, the Association demanded to stop rear-door appointments of regular teachers of various categories and fill up these posts through promotion and open advertisements, sources said.
UNI
