Around the world in one rupee
Chennai, Jan 4 (UNI) Net-4, one of the leading IP communications provider in India, has become the first ISP to launch ''One World'' plan, offering calls to more than 40 countries worldwide in just one rupee.
A pathbreaking offer in the VoIP market, the plan facilitates voice calls from a PC to phone or mobile globally by using Net4 One World calling card, a company statement said today.
Mr Jasjit Sawhney, CEO Net4 said, ''with 2007 coined as the broadband year, we are all set to capitalise on it and go to market with a new year gift for our consumers.'' ''This offering not only rejoices the home user who will now be able to make economical international calls but also will prove to be beneficial to corporates, SMEs and the BPO segment in reducing their ISD bills up to 95 per cent.
The internet telephony market, which is expected to grow with the advent of this product with the most revolutionary pricing, would let people connect anywhere at a flat call rate.
The common man will now be able to connect much more for much less across the world. For example, calling up Singapore or Australia, people, who would end up paying Rs 9.6 per minute call rate, can now make a call at Re one per minute with Net4 One World pre paid calling cards, he added.
He said Net4 was looking at adding 1,50,000 subscribers by the end of this calendar year.
