About 100 cow carcasses found

Mandsaur, MP, Jan 4 (UNI) Tension prevailed after about 100 cows' carcasses were found today in empty slate mines at Pithyakhedi village, about ten km from this district headquarters.

After gathering details from the Principal Secretary (Home) and District Collector, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered an inquiry and strict action against the guilty.

''The carcasses are lying in three to four mines. It is condemnable,'' said Mandsaur's Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Omprakash Purohit who visited the village.

The Collector, Superintendent of Police and other officials rushed to the spot. Post mortem was ordered. A heavy police force was stationed.
