2 kidnapped villagers rescued, a decoit killed

Jaipur, Jan 4 (UNI) One kidnapper was killed and another injured while two abducted persons were rescued after an encounter with police in Rajasthan's Dholpur district today.

The police also recovered arms and ammunition from the Ram Rai gang.

Inspector General of police Bharatpur range Hemant Purohit said police on a tip-off raided Khoda village near Champal river where the kidnappers had kept the two abducted villagers in a house.

In a joint operation, the police and Rajasthan Armed Constabulary jawans raided the house and in a three-hour-long encounter, rescued the captives and killed one of the gang members in the encounter.

Two villagers of Rajakheda village were abducted on December 31 night.
