Vadodara RTO office destroyed in fire
Vadodara, Jan 3 (UNI) A fire broke in the Vadodara office of RTO here today causing severe damage to the office records and properties worth lakhs of rupees.
According to RTO superintendent S Dodia, the fire which is believed to have had been caused by a short circuit, engulfed one of the two buildings of RTO office located at Warasia under Panigate police station.
The smart card department issuing driving licence to the public and the administrative wing located in the affected building, suffered extensive damage. Besides licence records and furniture and about two dozen computers were reduced to ashes.
No one was, however, injured in the incident.
After the fire was detected by one of the watchmen, four fire tenders rushed to the spot and fought for a couple of hours to put out the blaze.
