Undertrial hurls footwear at judge

Surat, Jan 3 (UNI) A Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) was assaulted by two accused, standing trial in a robbery case, when hearing in the case was in progress here this afternoon.

Police said the court was hearing a robbery case in which Santosh Rajaram and Rajesh Vitthal stand accused.

While the hearing was in progress, Santosh Rajaram threw a footwear at the JMFC while the other accused hurled abuses at the judge, police said.

The two were brought to the court from the Surat sub-jail where they are currently lodged as undertrials.
