The winter death toll rises to 85 in country

New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) The winter death toll in the country rose to nearly 85, as biting cold wave conditions continued to lash North-West India today, affecting surface communication at many places.

Altogether 67 deaths have been reported from Uttar Pradesh and 17 in Punjab and Haryana.

One person died in Sonepat district of Haryana body was found lying near the Sonepat-Rohtak road.
