Sr Natl Judu tourney from Jan 11

Vijayawada, Jan 3 (UNI) The five-day senior National Judo championship will be held at the DRM corporation indoor stadium here from January 11, organising committee secretary N Venkat said today.

Talking to UNI, he said nearly 850 judoists, including 250 women and 12 department teams from all over the country would participate in the championship.

The national team selected during the tourney would particpate in the international event to be held in China this year.

The Judo Federation of India, State Judo Association and the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh were organising the championship, he added.

Andhra Pradesh would host the World Military Judo championship in which 78 countries would participate and conduct the South Asian Judo championship. Both the events would be held at Hyderabad this year, he said.
