Shammi Kapoor's discharge card changed with another patient

Pune, Jan 3 (UNI) A patient was given a wrong discharge card which belonged to Bollywood actor of yesteryears Shammi Kapoor, by a renowned private hospital in the city.

The patient, a book binder, Ahsan Ansari was admitted to Ruby Hall Hospital on December 17 for a blood clot. However, Ansari was mistakenly given the discharge card of the actor, as both were supposed to be discharged on December 25th. The actor was being treated for multiple ailments including diabetes, renal diseases and brochial asthma.

Since the discharge card got mixed up, Ansari was taking Kapoor's medication for nearly two days before the mistake came to light.

When contacted, hospital sources and the patient blamed each other for carelessness. The patients family said that Kapoor's discharge card was kept in their file and it was not their duty to check the name on the card, while the hospital authorities said that the card was picked up from the counter by Ansari.
