RPG Transmission wins contracts worth Rs 193 cr from Power Grid Corp
New Delhi, Jan 3 (UNI) RPG Transmission Ltd has secured two orders, under global competitive bidding, worth Rs 193 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd for the construction of transmission lines.
According to the announcement made by the company today, the first order worth Rs 108 crore is for the supply and construction of a 203 km, 500 KV high voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission line from Sultanpur to Kanpur associated with the Ballia-Bhiwadi Transmission System.
This line is to be constructed in Uttar Pradesh passing through the districts of Sultanpur, Rai Barelly and Unnao. The project is scheduled to be completed by March 2009.
The second order worth Rs 85 crore involves the supply and construction of a 141 km, 765 KV transmission line from Tendukheda to Bina associated with the Seoni-Bine Transmission System.
This line is to be constructed in Madhya Pradesh. The scheduled completion of the project is November 2008.
Announcing this, company's Executive Director Ajit Singh Chouhan of the company said, ''These new orders are a reaffirmation of the capabilities of the RPGT to undertake large-scale EPC projects in power transmission. RPGT is well poised to grow by leveraging its project management and execution capability and by improving operational efficiencies.'' UNI
