Red sandal worth Rs 12 lakh recovered

Thiruvallur, Jan 3 (UNI) Red sandal wood worth Rs 12 lakh was recovered from a lorry by forest officials near here.

On a tip off, Red Hills Forest Officials caught the lorry near Madhuravayal here, which was coming from Chengalpattu.

Forest officials said the sandalwood was kept under coconuts.

Main accused Manikandan escaped while Kaniyappan and Raviyulla were arrested.
