Power problem can be solved by tapping nuclear power:Minister
Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 3 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Defence M M Pallam Raju today said the power shortage in the country could be met only by tapping nuclear power.
Talking to media here, he said every year power shortage was increasing and generation through thermal and hydel was insufficient.
Mr Raju said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhra Reddy was focusing on the demand for adequate gas for power generation in the district, besides setting up a ONGC Refinery in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Kakinada.
He said a Software Technology Park would be set up at Kakinada for the development of Godavari districts. Dr Reddy was expected to inaugurate the park, he added.
