Oman, an attraction for Indian Filmmakers

Dubai, Jan 3 (UNI) Oman is emerging as a favourite locale for Indian filmmakers because of its natural diversity and clean environment, say film producers.

The latest to complete the shooting in the Sultanate was a team from Chennai who picturised a dance and music sequence for the Tamil film ''Deepavai'' that is due for release in February.

The crew shot for five days, in Qantab Beach, Barr Al Jissah Resort&Spa, Nizwa, Al Hamra and Tanuf.

''Shooting here was different and a great experience,'' actor Jayam Ravi said vowing to come back with his family and other production team, Times of Oman reported.

Kerala actress Bhavana, on her second visit to Oman, said she was charmed by the rugged beauty of mountains, clean beaches and deserts.

A local travel company, which organised the trip for the film crew, said it is stepping up efforts to market Oman as a destination for Indian film producers following support from the government.
