North Bengal reeling under cold wave
Darjeeling, January 3 (UNI) North Bengal is reeling under a cold wave with Darjeeling, Coochbehar and Siliguri experiencing the coldest day of the season so far today.
Life was severely affected as fog and cold wave gripped most of the places in past 48 hours. There was zero visibility at various places here.
The maximum temperature was 3.5 degree C while minimum temperature took a dip to 1.5 degree C.
Coochbehar also witnessed spine chilling cold with the minimum temperature dropping to 7 degree C.
Siliguri recorded a maximum temperature of 20 degree C and a minimum of nine degree C.
The temperature dropped to 9.3 degree C in Jalpaiguri, Met officials here said.
Met department head Subir Sarkar told UNI the cold wave entered the region through the northern wind from North India.
UNI
