Nitish government fails to tackle cold wave situation: Rabri
Patna, Jan 3 (UNI) Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi today alleged that Nitish government has failed to take preventive measures to tackle the cold wave like situation in the state.
In a release issued here, Ms Rabri Devi, who is also the leader of the opposition in state assembly, said the state government did not take concrete steps to arrange 'bonfire' for the poor in the chilly winter.
She said that several people lost their lives in different districts due to biting cold while "the state govenment appeared to be in deep slumber." ''Severe cold is also taking toll on the agriculture sector as crores of rabi crops were damaged,'' she said adding that the state government should take steps to provide financial assistance to the farmers.
''Instead of wasting time in accusing the UPA government of non- cooperation in development of Bihar,'' Mr Kumar should concentrate on on his work and try to properly utilise the funds provided by the Centre for execution of various developmental and welfare schemes in the state'' she suggested.
