Mulayam a 'man-eater', order CBI probe or will go to UN: VP Singh
Noida, Uttar Pradesh, Jan 3 (UNI) Calling Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh a 'man-eater' and not a 'sher' as he termed himself, former prime minister V P Singh today threatened to go to the United Nations if a proper CBI probe into the Nithari serial killings was not ordered by the State government.
Addressing the press after his visit to the 'killer house' in the Sector 31 of Nithari village, Mr Singh said if no CBI probe was ordered into the ghastly killing of children by the State government, he would knock the doors of the Supreme Court and if even then his demand was not met, he would approach the United Nations to intervene in the matter.
''It was a shame that Mulayam Singh calls himself a 'sher' (lion) when people talk about the 'jungle raj' (lawlessness) prevailing in the State. In fact, the 'sher' has turned adamkhor (man-eater) with hapless children being killed by dozens under his rule.'' Had the Chief Minister been concerned about the killings, he would have visited the place and consoled the affected families.
Instead, he chose to stay away. There was no law and order in the state and lawlessness prevailed and the Chief Minister was totally responsible for it, he alleged.
Earlier, the former PM also met the families of the victims and empathised with them and participated in an 'all party condolence meeting' at Nithari Village's 'C' Block park in which Salman Khurshid and Pramod Tewari (Congress) and Maninder Singh 'Bitta' of All India Anti-Terrorist Front participated.
Mr Bitta suggested that fast track courts be set up to try the guilty in this case so that they would be punished at the earliest and added that the 'D-5 killer house' in sector 31 of Nithari village be demolished and a 'children's memorial' be made there.
